In collaboration with Nevada Health Centers and Quad Counties, the county is hosting several flu vaccination clinics throughout September and October.
The clinics are located across the county.
Clinic Information:
- Storey County Senior Center, Virginia City: September 29, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
- Mark Twain Senior Center, Dayton: October 17, 2023, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- Storey County Fire Station #2 - Virginia Highlands: October 18, 2023, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
- Lockwood Senior Center: October 19, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
- Virginia City Senior Center: October 25, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
In addition to vaccination clinics, a Community Resource Fair is scheduled for Wednesday, October 4 at Piper's Opera House in Virginia City.
The event will offer flu and COVID vaccinations administered by Immunize Nevada, and provide attendees an opportunity to engage with local agencies, including the Storey County Sheriff's Office and Storey County Fire.
The event will go from noon to 6 p.m. and vaccines will be offered until 4 p.m.
Residents are encouraged to bring their insurance cards to the clinics. For those without insurance, the flu shot is priced at $20, ensuring that everyone has access to this essential preventive care. High Dose vaccines, recommended for those 65 years and older, are available in limited quantities.
